when is a complete 4" exhaust system a must?
As the topic sais.
When do you regard a complete 4" exhaust systemas a must.
I had a discussion with a friend about the pipe size in high HP applications (700+).
We had different oppinions.
I thought a 4"DP leading to 3"exhaust system would be enough.
His oppinion was a complete complete 4"system.
But this would be a hard work to get it under a civic (especially in the swaybar area).
Do you think there is a good benefit from such a complete 4"system?
Thanks

Re: when is a complete 4" exhaust system a must? (hondaapi)
i don't see a point to have a 4in dp and then run it through a 3in exhaust. i think most people that are hardcore enough to actually need a 4in exhaust, don't run full exhausts. they run the 4in dp past the front axle and put a downturn on it.
for me, i'm staying with my 3in exhaust. if i can't get more power out of it,then i'll go open dp.

4 inch downpipe into 3 inch exhaust? thats a waste...it would run just like a full 3 inch setup....4 inch is unjustifiable IMO, it just isnt needed, and like stated above...if it is....then they need to just do a side exit dp

Re: (quik sol)
Ok. I often heared about the open DP setups.
But here in Germany it is definetly forbidden to run open DP.
Also at 1/4mile races - it sometimes happens that you are not allowed to start..
So we are searching for a good alternative.

Would it be better to run a 3inch downpipe and no exhaust or is it better with a full 3 inch exhaust
