Default What's missing from this turbo setup?

OK. This is my plan for a basic turbo setup on my car. I'm buying it piece by piece. It's basic as I said, 6psi, on a d16y8, small turbo (maybe go 16g later). I know a lot of people will say bigger turbo or hondata... yes that will come... in time.

>Mitsubishi TD05H-14B Turbocharger
>Pann Auto Turbo Manifold (or maybe sfp)
>TEC Wastegate Canister with 6psi Spring
>Starion/Conquest I/C (or if i can find a cheap drag i/c)
>Custom I/C piping
>HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve

Fuel System:
>DSM 450cc Injectors
>RC Injector wire clips
>255lph Walbro Intank Fuel Pump
>Apex'i V-AFC

Electronics & Gauges, etc:
>NGK BCPR7ES-11 Spark Plugs
>Greddy Turbo Timer (got it already)
>Autometer Sport-Comp A/F Ratio Gauge (got it already)
>Autometer Sport-Comp Boost Gauge
>Autometer Dual Gauge Pod

Miscellaneous:
Oil-line Kit
Gaskets, etc.

nah you wouldn't wanna run the vortec fmu with such big injectors. would run way too rich. the vafc mod (not the hack) seems sufficient for boost below 10psi.

you still need something to raise your fuel pressure under boost, the vafc will not do that, it will just allow you to adjust it in incriments......
i am pretty sure you will need an FMU or something else to deliver fuel (hondata)

any one can clear this up ?

You don't necessarily have to raise fuel PRESSURE for boost, just the actual fuel flow into the cylinders. Remember that by raising fuel pressure you therefore increase the fuel flow. With the 450cc injectors the car wouldn't start or idle because it would be flooded. With the V-AFC you can cut some of the fuel flow so the car can idle since 450cc's are big injectors. if you want you can check out http://www.thedropshop.tv/vafc.htm they have a write up on it.

yah from what i heard it works well. It only works for below 10psi. After 10psi it the check engine light comes on (MAP sensor). VTC Civic used it before he had his hondata put in and it seemed fine. Just need dsm 450cc injectors (or RC 440's whatever it is), the vafc, and a intank fuel pump (the stock pump won't be able to flow that much). Just hook it up normally and put the settings in. Those settings on the site are for a d16 civic i think though.
