This depends on the spring of the wastegate that you have. I bet if you went to a stronger wastegate, you'd be able to get the 40psi. springs can only go about 2.5 times their lbs/ weight

Or an ERL block capability of 43psi and 900hp is a pretty strong block.

before you go buying another ebc you should check the wastegate spring and the turbo. try getting a higher spring and if that dont work then try blocking off the wastegate port and see how high it can go. what turbo are u running anyways?

If you really have a honda with a T88 and are trying to run 40 pounds of boost it's clearly a race car. No better choice than an MSBC-1 with CO2.

one of my distributors recommended that to hold a good boost level, you should never go too far pass your springs doubled psi. meaning, if you're running an 8psi spring, then you should limit the boost controller to around 16psi. I've never tried it yet myself so I dont know if this holds any truth.

Do i see a blown motor in the near future j/k...u gotta make sure ur WG spring is up to the task, ur turbo may be getting pushed, n yea the BC will need replacing.

I can't wait to see how the motor holds up tho!

This is not true, i've run over 45psi many times on very small springs. Exhaust backpressure plays a huge role in how much boost over spring pressure you can make. Think about what's happening when you can't run more boost. The wg is opening, why? Exhaust backpressure pushing the valve open...

from your experience what would be my ratio for intake charge pressure versus exhaust back pressure ( st.5 wheel in .63 2.5" d/p sc61s ) oh! full 3" exhaust? thanks

Never tested on an exhaust side that small, but i'd guess around 1.5:1 or so. So 30psi boost pressure, 45 exhaust pressure. Somewhere around there anyways. On our race cars we see closer to .75:1 in many occasions!

More importantly....what waste gate are you using? Upgrade the spring to set the base pressure higher and you'll be fine.

Did u try taking off the whole wastegate and replacing it with a plate? try that and see how many lbs you can get.
