Default what's the difference bet. VAFC hack and this setup??

there's this guy from where i am who got a turbocharge civic running 5psi and got 202HP and a best 13.8sec e.t. i'm confuse about his settings on the vafc and i feel there's no difference with the hack other than the injectors otherwise it's wired exactly as in the apex manual same with the vafc used in the hack.

he's using Drag 3 turbo kit and still uses the inline pump and vortech fmu. he said he used 310cc injectors before but his tuner change it back to the STOCK injectors coz he's running very rich.

here is his dyno sheet with the vafc settings:

how can he use -50 with stock injectors at 4600 - 5200rpm? how can he go as low as -15 when below -35 on the VAFC HACK can give u a check engine light? can it be he's still using the missing link(i'm not sure)? and these settings will make the timing very advance(maybe his apex itc fixed this)? same as with the hack?

lastly, what does BTDC 7@0 mean? can it mean that he retarded the timing from the stock 16 to only 7?

anybody got any idea?

You answered your own question. He is using the inline pump and VORTECH FMU. Which completely defeats the purpose of the AFC Hack.

AFC hack is ment to get rid of the rediculiously high fuel pressure. He is still using the Vortech FMU.

i know, but how can he trim it to -18 to -50. even if he's still using the fmu to get high pressure he's still trimming fuel off the map sensor right? same as with the hack. that's how i analyze it.

on the hack, you use 450cc and that's alot of fuel so you need the hack to trim it, but trimming it to -48 gives you rough idle sometimes and doing it at less than -35 throws the CEL.

i'm not claiming to be an expert of the hack. i'm not and this confused me and i like to know.

any other explanations?

Maybe he's using a missing link or check valves

As hes using of the FMU and inline pump, it must have been setup in such a way thats its overfuelling hence he can trim it down to such a degree with the AFC. His fuel press could be very high.
