what are the advantages and disadvantages of both?

 

what are you talking about... closed/open loop wastegate or closed/open loop ecu operation which one.

 

I was also pondering this thought. I am deciding whick to get on the 3" down pipe deal. I am concerned about boost creep with the closed loop.

 

If done right you will not loose hp. Even though we dont have a dyno on this we could tell because the trap speeds were the same. When MarkC had his 2.5" dp and we made it closed loop we ran his car and the trap speeds were the same which means no power loss.

open is really loud a friend of mine with a turbo gsr runs open wg and we were racing one day, my roomate looks over at me, who by the way only owns domestics, and asks why my car doesn't sound as mean as my friends

 

i got open loop... it sounds meaner than a muthafocker!

domestics know my **** is heated when they hear me take off... hahah

intimidation... key to fear.

 

closed loop caused boost creeps? wow.. didnt know that. interesting... i wonder if thats why most people on this board experience boost creeps.

 

Open is loud as hell at 5k+... I almost can't stand it, it's soo loud, but hey it's does sound meaner than a mother when your ripping past some mustang, laying down rubber and blowing off as you shift....

i might reroute mine to closed so I can hear the turbo.. and the radio and the airconditioner and the passenger next to me and the girl in the back seat screaming.. and the ambulance and the cops eetc..... while i'm in the "upper power band".... LMAO

I have a closed loop on my car and I've never had any problems with boost creep yet.
