If the rod breaks it could do it... But detonation normally causes rods to break if everything was assembled right...

ok my friend threw a rod through his block on his crx si with the stock d16/d15 motor. How the hell is possible when its all stock???

if this is an reply to my post..hell yeah on a stock one.I just changed a D16Y8 on a girls car that blew out the oil pump seal,she ran it out of oil on the highway.The connecting rod bearings looked like they welded themselves to the crank,when it locked up it broke the rod on the big end and threw it thru the block.It was an ugly site...I should have snapped some pics of it oh well.
