what wastegate for new lsvtec build?
OK i had a stock ls-t with the following setup
cast mani
t3t04e 57 trim .63 ar
2.5" charge piping
SSAC Precision 350 knock off intercooler
35mm WG
SSQV BOV
precision 525cc sat injectors
Motorola 2.5 bar map
adjustable cam gears
3" dp
3" DMH cutout (running stock exhaust when closed)
made 302/262 @13psi then blew up
Now im going with a build lsvtec
b18a block
resleeved 84mm
eagle rods
je pistons
closed deck
keeping all the old turbo gear except now 1000cc injectors and i was wondering what wastegate to go with?
There was never any creep or spike with the 35mm gate so i was wondering if it would do... planning on hitting 400 this year if the turbo will let me.
Next year ill probally go bigger with IC & turbo so if im going to buy a gate now ill have to think about that as well.
so should i go with a 38mm or go for something like a 44mm?

the 35/38mm should be just fine for your setup. the 44mm is most useful on BIG turbos at low boost to help control spike/creeping issues. check out jeff-evans article about wastegate sizing, there is some good info http://www.evans-tuning.com/tech11.html
edit: plus you would have to mod your mani to get the 44mm to fit, not worth it IMO.
