What type of Clutch for high hp?
I am currently using ACT extreme pressure plate with 6 puck disc. It is so harsh and sucks like hell when you are stuck in traffic. I want a less harsh clutch that will hold the power. Any suggestions?

Clutchmasters stage 4 with a clutchmasters 7.5 flywheel is a nice combo.
Its very soft and grabs pretty hard when you want it to.

I know a couple US companies are making Twin plates now but a twin that doesn't use sprung disc is a bitch to use on the streets.
Turbo Hondas that produce more than 400hp in Japan use OS Giken or ATS tein plates. The 160000yen($1280 @ 125yen/$) OS Giken Twin can be ordered to fit your application and the ATS twin(and single) has a carbon disc option that relieves a lot of shock from the drivetrain. For applications up to 400whp Cusco and OS Giken offer a single metal disc setup that is sprung (Super Single).
The ATS and ORC super singles are only rated to 300whp. All of these setups come complete with Flywheel, disc(s), pressure plate and an after market T/O bearing.
Clutch masters is making(selling) twins now but the disc are unsprung. If money doesn't matter and you don't mind walking with a limp then you might want to checkout the Tilton race onlysetups.

Re: What type of Clutch for high hp? (vince23ho)
I heard and read about the Tilton and that is way too full race for me. I am looking to make around 320-350 hp. I was thinking of using a ACT heavy duty pressure plate with a six-puck sprung disc. I heard that is pretty good. Actually my friend just got the parts in and I am gonna wait it out to see how it feels and how effective it is. Thanx for the replies guy.

Re: What type of Clutch for high hp? (Spocko)
RPS clutchs are pretty nice.. CM stage 4, and ACT heavy duty with 6 puck is nice also. However stay away from the CM flywheel. The CM flywheels tend to crack at the stress points. Use the stock flywheel with boosted applications. With a light weight flywheel you may fall out of boost quicker, however you tend to spool up quicker. So if you shift fast and dont miss then a light weight flywheel is a plus, however if you shift slow and tend to miss gears (like me) then its a negative.

all of what you just said is a highly debated topic and always will be. Have you ever seen a CM flwheel crack personally??? Have pics? I have yet to actually see a CM flywheel that has cracked or shattered. This is in no way entended as a bash so dont take it as one

Oh dont worry I wont take it as a flame or anything. Im just voicing my opinion and I'm sure there will be some people that disagree with me. Yes, I have seen CM flywheel crack. Well a hair line crack near the bolts towards the outter part of the flywheel. Who knows what that hair line crack would end up doing. What some people do is reinforce the outer part with more bolts. Do I smell a debate coming?

iv seen a clutchmaster flywheel actually in 2 pieces... the contact area that is bolted onto the main part actually spun completely off... enough info for me never to buy one... personally i'd go with a twin disc... but expect to pay $$$

(NOTE) I have never used a CM clutch and probably never will. I just noticed that they are trying to jump on the twin disc bandwagon so I mentioned that they make/sell a twin disc setup.(/NOTE)
I have been in Japan since '93 so I mainly know about parts that are available over here.
