Default What is on this turbo compressor??
what is that on the bottom middle? Is it a BOV

doesn't look like it's a BOV, since it's on the inlet side.

It's not on the inlet it's on the charge side...and it does almost look like a blow off valve.

That is a built in bypass valve. I think some of the old Volvos or Audis came with it. I remember seeing that at the junkyard.

its by the inlet but the charged side is right behind it. Also you can't see it very good in this pic, but i think there is a vacume connection on it at the very bottom.

yeah its a bypass valve that let loose on the inlet of the compressor housing. A lot of older turbo cars had these, particularly oens that used mechanical AFMs with flap doors, not hot wire.
