how much boost? keep the b16 tranny unless you are trying for like 500 hp gears would be to short with that much power

Theres a lot of debate about this topic. I dont think it is as straight forward as BLUE EH3 says, even though there is some truth to it. I'd go with as short of gears as possible if I were you. The only advantage to longer gears is having to shift less. The advantage to shorter gears is being more in your powerband. There is a lot of debate about this topic though. Both sides have merit. I'd keep what you have if I were you.

no, no, no, no, no!!!

why does everybody think that an LS is good for boost??? i keep hearing longer gears are better because u can stay in boost longer...WRONG! the shorter the gear ratio the more the power that is transferred to the wheels and inevitably the ground. if u are having traction problems with your b16 or gsr tranny do not try to solve it by puting longer gears in your car, u may have traction with the LS but its because less power is being transferring to the ground due to the longer gears. if u cant grip get better tires.

personally i like the GSR tranny better than the b16 tho due to its everyday driveability and stronger diff.
