Usually when people say they skimped on fuel mgmt., they did NOT have hondata, aem ems, motec, or some type of standalone, um and there is like one or two more good ones I just can't think of right now . Everything else is pretty much "skimping" on fuel mgmt.

Do some research before you jump into the project and it is going to cost you way more then you think. So plan on little extra dough on the side.

Don't go cheap on parts.
If a deal is too good to be true it probably is.
Get the car tuned.
Get some quality T-Bolt clamps on those intercooler pipes.

couldnt agree more

one thing i would do is to make sure everything you need is there as well as a spare car to borrow when you need to take unexpected trips to auto stores

yeap!

i ended up having my engine out for 2 months doing a rebuild (when i actually could have been driving it for those 2 months)just b/c i didnt realize that i needed more parts. there are lots of small miscellaneous things that you will end up buying that you never even thought about. think everything through.

have a nice big buget just in case things happen(they always do)

fmu's suck, hack's are alright, standalone is where its at.
And buy the good stuff and only the good stuff because chances are u are going to sell the bad stuff and end up buying the good stuff anyways

That should apply to any aftermarket prod.

Always have a spare car. A beater is the best thing you can buy for a turbo car.

What would I personally have done different? Started with a 3rd gen RX7 instead of my Civic.

Save lots of money, be patient, buy once buy the best and have a daily driver.

Realize that u'll eventually get what u want just not in the exact time frame that u predicted. Modding cars can be very frustrating. Try not to let it bother you to have to spend money on a part just to keep it running and not neccessarily a performance part. ie "BLEH I GOTTA BUY A ******' *insert part here* WHEN I COULDA BOUGHT BIGGER INJECTORS WITH THAT MONEY!!! GRRRR" hehe that kinda thing. Remember to thank ur friends, treat them good and buy them food when they help it'll keep them coming back! Hook ups and "powered by homies" is what it's all about.

And remember there is always someone faster...so accomplish what u set out to do and be happy eventhough it will never be enough, more power!

be ready for anything..and i mean anything. sometimes things just don't wanna go along as planned.

and know what you want and getting it in the first place rather than having second thoughts afterward and end up spending more money.

What not to do?

Toy around with the car too much. Put it together and leave it alone. 30,000 miles later my car is still running awesome.

Yeah my friend who used to work on Porsche/Audi/VW performance cars is going to help me install and fabricate anything needed. I got lucky there...I will definitely feed him well while this all takes place.

Can anyone comment on fuel managament a bit more, specifically I think I am going ZDYNE, but only because I have an OBD0 car, and Im not sure converting to OBD1 and then going Hondata would be worth it. Anyone take that route? Either Way?

this is very helpful..but can someone be more specific about the Oil feed and return installs? Sadly im probably gonna skimp out on my fuel....But its only temporarily..Im already piecing up for hondata....the problem is..no one in okahoma knows how to tune hondata....so Im gonna have to run the FMU missing link temporarily until i have time to take the trip to Dallas,Texas and let jotech tune it for me. Other than that..please go over the Oil Feed and return lines..

Get married. You'll be amazed at how much money you save when you're not running around chasing ***. Just get a woman who understands your auto infatuation from the beginning.

Also pick the right car. I boosted my Type-R. If I had dropped down to a GSR I would have had the same power with a couple of thousand dollars in my pocket. Of course I would have missed my LSD. So Plan Plan Plan before you spend.

Don't turbo a Honda... you need a lot of extra money

Anyway, back to the topic... use SS braided lines only for oil feed/drain.
