What Nitrous kit should i get?
i have a 97 Prelude , pretty much all the normal bolt ons, and ive decided to add a nitrous kit. im only going to use a 50 shot maybe go a little higher but i wanna be safe, i was thinking of these kits: 1. NOS Honda NOSzle nitrous system 2. ZEX Dry kit 3.Zex wet kit. Please give me any advice you have.
I would stay away from any dry kits. Yes, they are idiot proof, but are they low fuel pressure proof?? Nope. Go lean and Pop....Burned valve for me because of a weak Injector. I'm planning on getting a NX Wet direct port set up next.
its all in your setup. I could easily run a dry kit now because of my fuel setup. Its best to run a wet kit. Most of it comes down to preference and price range. all the kits are pretty good. I'm personally found of a direct port set up over a single nozzle. Probably wouldn't go with Zex again only because of the brain box that comes with the kit. I prefer the solinoids.

from what i heard, direct port is the best way to go if you can't use a dry kit. A wet kit that goes into your intake and through your throttle body? i dunno...from my understanding it's only good to have air in the throttle body, not fuel and NOS. I want a direct port kit since i have a EP3, but i'm not looking for massive hp, just looking for reliablity with like a 50-60 shot...seems kind of a waste of money to go direct port and only use 50 shot...cheaper than a greddy turbo for 3000 for 50whp.
Im having the hardest time deciding what kit to get, i hear ZEX is good for 50-75 shot but has a chance of running lean, then i hear a NX kit is is good but there could be puddling. In the latest "Modified" magazine they have a nitrous buyers guide and i was looking at the NOS NOSzle system and it seemed pretty nice, anyone use this kit before?I just want the safest kit out there for a 50-75 shot, would this NOSzle system be a good choice?
direct port is the safest for a shot bigger than 50 or so. It distributes fuel and nitrous evenly. I have a new NOS pro race fogger direct port setup for sale. take mine from me for 625 plus shipping so i can buy hondata.
hey i got a NOS direct port im trying to sell that i had on my h22..dynoed at 280whp/220tq on a stock motor....it comes with everythign you can think of for a nitrous car to run safely.... blanket, heater, purge, blowdowntube, bottle gauge and a jacobs nitrous mastermind all hardware and wiring ,all i want is 630shipped and you can have all this stuff overnighted to you... i can be vouched for over at jdmu but you can email me at zratedaccord@hotmail.com if youre interested!
the only difference in kits is the way the juice is delivered.
bran x vs. brand y is merely comparing the colors of the bottle for the most part... except of course for zex.. only b/c the solenoids are all contained in the brain.
NOS and NX make great solenoids... never had a problem with either
All bottles do the same thing... only difference is size for the most part. NX has the CF 15lb bottle...
lines... you have teflong (or is it nylong, whatever), SS, and hardline...
if you are buying a COMPLETE kit i'd go with the NX kit that replaces the fuel rail or something like that.. haven't looked into it yet but caught a glimpse of it on a local car....

You most likely would have burned that valve if you were running a wet kit too. If your injector is failing you are going lean in that cylinder either way.

I've had friends toast numerous engines with it, it doesn't work very well, and it takes a while to power up the system if you meet somebody at a stoplight (but nobody on H-T street races once in a while, right?
) and I just don't trust the system. Stick to NX or nitrous works, they are by far the best.

"I've had friends toast numerous engines with it, it doesn't work very well" um ok what does this mean? running to much nitrous? not enough fuel? system **** the bed?
Both NX and NOS are perfectly fine. Have NX direct port on the Integra, and a NX single fogger on my Maxima w/ NOS solenoids. Only have the NOS solenoids on my car because they used to sponsor it and NX sponsored the Integra. Never had problems with either set of solenoids sticking.
Friend had a ZEX dry kit on his AV6. First pass using the kit in the 1/4, he burned up a couple of valves at the 1/8th. It was a faulty install at the shop though, they had the FPR messed up and the car dropped fuel pressure while spraying. I always thought there was a fuel pressure safety switch like I had with my old NOS dry kit,b ut apparently it didn't work. That is why I don't like dry kits, increased fuel pressure is another point of potential issues.
