im putting my d16y8 head on my d16y7 bottom end. what gasket will i need? and whats my compression ratio gonna be? thanx

 

yoo nobody has this setup or knows what im talkin about?

i juust need to know what headgasket to use with my setup

99 D16y8 vtec head w/ 97 d16y7 block
and if u know what my compression will be that would help

I know with the Bseries setups, you use the same headgasket as the block. So you would want the HG off the D16y7. I have NO clue what your compression would be. Test it and find out.

 

no offense, i think you'll have more luck in the hybrid, or tech forum....and if you're runnig a mini-me swap, i believe it'll be the same as EX. cause that's basiclly what your making.

 

I believe that the y8 is thinner then the y7....but are you going to turbo in the future? Might want to think about an aftermarket thicker headgasket if you have some big plans...but go w/ the y8 head gasket. well if you're looking at going with a lower compression headgasket, call inlinepro. I know they make one for the d series blocks and i'm sure they could help you out.
