Default What headgasket to use.

I am curious what head gaskets people run.. I am doing a build right now plan on running 14-17 psi, this is my first honda build I have been building dsms for years and always use cometic but I have heard of people blowing alot of them out on hondas what brand should I use and how thick.. thanks

I heard the inline-pro low compression ultra thick gasket is virtually unblowable.

Thanks.. I looked at theres and they require adjustable cam gears that is something that I am running without. so that is a no go for me..

I use a Cometic MLS on a 8.4:1 B16 running a little over 20 PSI of boost

OEM headgasket and OEM studs. You won't have a problem with OEM head bolts. People usually do it for a "peace of mind."

I did. Lifted the head under boost and blew out the HG.

You will have a problem if you re-use them. This is because of bolt stretch that occurs when the bolt is torqued then removed.

I'm also a fan of the OEM gasket with ARP's. The good thing about ARP's is that you can use them time and time again. You can try your luck with re-using stock head bolts and you may get lucky. Or you may be like the other people that blew their headgaskets due to the head lifting like Dax pointed out.

I say use headstuds and the Cometic...Thats what Earl recomended to me and ill be running over 30psi
