Default What ecu to use??

I have a pr4 chipped with uberdata and i was going to get it tuned once i got my motor put in and my tuner suggested that i get a p28 or p72. i am going non vtec. he just said it is easier to tune with a p28 or p72. Is this true? i was going to tune on crome. thanks

You only need a p28 or p72 if your motor requires a vtec ecu.
A p72 would be useless unless you are running a stock gsr intake manifold.
IMO, go with a p28 or a p06 with vtec added etc.

They are no easier or harder to tune with vtec or non...its all just circuitry and they are all part of the same board design.

Your tuner is not too smart, the ecus are the same thing. You can run a p30 or p72 rom on a p06, pr4, p75 by simply disabling vtec & knock etc

Eh...just because he doesnt know about ECUs doesnt mean he's a bad tuner. I mean he should...but maybe you can educate him.

he had me under the impression that he was not going to tune it with the pr4, that he wanted me to get a p28. that's why im skeptical. this is also just going to be a street tune, not a dyno tune. i am really thinking of traveling to go somewhere else.
