Default AVC-R or Profec A? Do I really need a boost controller?

I did a search but couldn't find anything helpful.

Between the two (Apexi-AVC-R or Greddy Profec A), which is better? I know they're kinda expensive but that doesn't matter right now.

Another question....will a boost controller really make that much of a difference? Is spool up that much improved? My friend said to upgrade my injectors from stock first before the BC. What do you think?

they are both pretty good but an overkill in my book...if you're not a preofessional racer or just even semi-serious, I'd go for the Profec B instead...its less tuning work and dead easy install. the other two has a pretty steep learning curve, and the fuzzy logic thingy is mind boggling

Any more opinions?

Do you guys see a great improvement using a BC versus not using one?

I have the AVC-R and I like it a lot. Setup is lengthy but that didn't bother me a bit. You have to read the manual thoroughly and carefully to setup the AVC-R correctly. It will learn the boost curve and then allow you to adjust from that point. I love the gear based boost control. Almost all electronic boost controllers hold the wastegate closed until you hit the set opening point which will give more power in all gears.

i have the profec a. easy to setup just do full throttle run 1st thru 3rd and it learns the boost curve and sets it up.

i have an apex avcd which i really like. I didnt want to get the big avcr because it looked like a pain in the *** to use. The avcd works just like the profec B, want more boost turn up a ****. Its that easy to use.

"A lot of people complain about turbo setups having lag. I look at it this way. A turbo motor has a period of below average power followed by a large increase in power and torque. A naturally aspirated motor has a period of below average power followed by no large increase in power and torque." Corky Bell

lol love that sig art

I have an AVC-R and I like it It can be a pain in the *** to learn how to set your duty settings and I'm still getting hellacious spikes because of it, but it just requires more time playing with it to get it to hold steady boost. Anybody found a good balance between start duty and soleniod duty settings yet?
