I've spent a lot of time in DSM forums and I heard that trannys were failing due to wheelhop on the FWD models...I spent all my time wishing for an AWD model though.

I broke 2 stock differentials from wheel hop. One of which totally distroyed the whole tranny. That was on slicks though... Finally got a quaife.

 

the first time i raced at a track, 3 years ago, i busted my left engine mount cause of wheel hop. it was easily replaced though.

 

Personally, I tracked down a place that sold remanufactured stock axels, they have a lifetime warranty. If I snap one, i just bring it in and they gimme a new one, no questions asked! They were a good price too, 80 bux each!

Maaaan I have the same **** . My **** dose not even scratch either. I burned out and I would get massive wheel hop too. Its a broken axle for shure. Good thing I have hond care warranty and no mods. I have not had time to take it because my siters ESCALADE is in the shop and I need to take her to work and pick her up . When she gets it back Ill take it. Well Ive heard you need to get energy suspension bushing to eliminate wheel hop. Maybe that was the reason I lost to a CRX hmmm.

 

Got the bushings...didn't help...still shattered tranny!

Get the Comp engineering FWD traction system for the Integra's, and new shocks.

 

Most CRX's arent a joke...nothin to just play with cuz its like playing with fire.


what is the traction system, how much, and where from?

 

The Crx Looked stock except for straight pipe. I had 4 people in my car including myself . And a full tank of gas and a set of 15s in the back. Still had some fun though.

I have had bad wheel hop in the ran due to crappy stock tired on my 98gsr. Had the tranny replaced, clutch and flywheel..Stupid question, but is the differenty part of the tranny when acura replaced it for me? Because When I jab at the gas at any rpm...it feels like the motor is floppin around..But its not. All the mounts are perfect. Bottom have es inserts in them. When I let off the gas at high rpms, i get he same feeling..like a jolt. Like something is slippin in the drivetrain. Could something be worn in my axels?

well... truth of the matter is... its not the wheel hop thats breakin things... i think its forgetting to let off the gas during wheel hop that breaks things. hehe usually with that much force on the tranny, etc... of course something is goin to break.

 

What you you go with...autozone crap axels with a life time warrenty? or spend a lil more and just get some good ones from driveshaftshop.com ?

 

One time when I was racing and I got really bad wheel hop, my red 'h' emblem fell off...

 

The other day it was a little wet out, so once I was in second I punched but obviously still had some spin that turned into pretty bad wheel hop and around 4500rpm or so, the revs dropped to about 2000rpm when I was still at WOT...I was going up a slight hill as well...this might be stoopid, but was this just when the wheels hooked up and it bogged in second?! it sure as hell lost power, but everything seems perfectly fine. I wasn't really expecting this, so it kind of caught me off gaurd? anyone experience anything like this?

 

I don't agree. I can't understand how wheel hop is the cause of broken axles. I've seen many axles break and none of which were the cause of wheel hop. Every time I saw an axle break, the car didn't even leave the line. I think everyone would agree with me that the actual launch of the car is alot harder on the drivetrian than the wheel hop that follows.

I have seen many people including myself wheel hop past the 60' mark, but I have yet to see someone that made it past the 60' mark with a broken axle.
