Default What compression does does an b16a head on a b18c yeild?

Ok i was runnin an LS/Vtec and i detonated, and the block is a lil scrapped, goin 20 over might fix it but im not sure yet, anywayz the head is not damaged(99sihead) my Ls block has crower rods and had je pistons. I found a GSR block for pretty cheap and if i was gunna go and use the GSR block (which was gunna be fitted with some eagle rods and some JE's) and just drop my VTEC head on there but i wanted to have something like 9:1 compression soo i needed to know what pistons should i get? If i get GSR 9:1 will they actually be lower since the B16a head yeilds a lower compression than a GSR head?
ohh by the way im booosting.

ohhh and i forgot i could go with an LS block and still use my crower rods and all ill need is some new pistons (thats if my block cant be fixed) But what i really wanted to know is if im better off just making this motor a "true" vtec motor than just an LS/VTEC since im boostin. In other words is the GSR/Si motor stronger than the LS/VTEC motor? thanks again

just get a full gsr if you can, i have a b16a head on a b18c1 bottom end as far as i know it drops the compression down to 9.8-1 i dont know for a fact if that is exact but its not much lower than that

I dont see the point in getting a full gsr motor when all i gotta do is buy a block, plus i dont like the dual runners on the gsr and, im pulling the internals out of the block soo theres no point in me paying for all that, and the head has like 2000 miles on it

If you get 9:1 compression pistons it will yield about 8.8:1 compression. If I were you I would get about 9.5:1 compression and end up with about a 9.3:1. I had that setup btw...1.6head, 1.8 block...

just use what u got and get your block sleeved.. Perfect solution cause it benifits u in everyway and is much cheaper then a new GSR block..
