Default blew my motor, what are my options?

long story, short, i was driving home, heard clicking, thought it was my pulley/alternator belt, as i'm trying to get to the closest exit, i hear a crack, see metal fly out in my rear view mirror, and i end up with a hole in my block. the block was a sleeved 2.0L 9:1 compression with eagle rods. the head is a gsr. what i wanna know is, what could have caused this, and i'm sure i had enough oil. and i was driving normally when this all happened. and the motor was not acting up or nothing before this, it just happened out of no where. i also want to know if any of the parts are still good, and if my head is ok? the head is a gsr head. if it is ok, should i go ls/vtec or just get a gsr block, i'm looking for reliability because this is my daily driver. i also wanted to know what pistons can be used on the ls with ls rods, and no machine work.

I bet the clicking noise was really a knock due to a spun bearing which ended up exiting the block.

The best way to tell what happened is to tear it all apart and investigate.

I dont know what you did. But man that is one big *** hole! When I threw a rod through my b18b the hole was nothing close to that size. If you are going to blow an engine, you did it up right.

Good luck finding the cause.

detonation by running too rich caused this? sure about that one?

wow... no words for this one.

What does the oil look like? Milky white? Best bet would be to start taking it apart.

Since your block is gone, you should get a gsr block. Gsr motor are more reliable

I believe an overly rich rich condition can also lead to detonation.

no overly rich washes the oil off of the cylinder walls and kills the rings resulting in crazy blowby

yes, depending on how rich that bitch is, it can cause serious misfiring and lead to excess blowby, but that was most likely lean, knocking like crazy and shimmied everything loose until it fell apart.

now you can buy my motor! i promise it wont do that!!
