Ok so i put a mech. oil gauge on my d16z6 because it was having the oil light flicker on and off at idle well so i tore down my bottom end i checked all bearing and oil pick up and they were good so then i put the gauge in and it reads with 5w-30 oil at start up 45-55psi and then drops all the way to 8-10 psi when motor warms up (supose the be at 24psi at idle) so i went out and got 20w-50 oil and the oil pressure at start up is 60psi then drops to 8-10 and even lower sometimes but if i give it gas it will go up... at 3000rpms the pressure goes to 45-50psi with the 20w-50 oil ... i have check oil level its fine and i still have no idea whats happeing is this a bad oil pump???

 

what is your idle rpm? have you tried raising the it?

 

what are your bearing clearances?
mileage on the engine / pump?
