Default Water getting into head, milkshake

Ok, I can't figure out why/how water is getting into the head. I recently did an ls/vtec changeover using a p30 headgasket (which leaked bad). So I tryed it again using a copper sprayed ls headgasket. After a couple of days (with no appeared leaks) I pulled the valvecover to find a very small amount of water, cleaned it up and put it back together.

Ran it for a week or so and during this time it has not burnt any coolant, the coolant level has not changed. The car is not overheating at all, and there is no coolant in the oil.

However, when I removed the valvecover last week I found this.

After I found that, I cleaned it off and put the valvecover back on.

Now, I just finished removing the valve cover again just to check out how things are going, I found a bit of a milkshake concentrated on the right side.

Now I'm guessing its either a very small coolant leak from the headgasket, or mabye something to do with my catch can setup. I'm running a stainless steel catch can thats openly vented to the atmosphere. Its connected to the valvecover and crankcase. The weather has been VERY damp the last 3 weeks or so, raining everyday, with temperatures around 5-10 degrees celeius.

Oh yeah and compression test was perfect, 210 across the board.

Anyone have any ideas?

Bump for my bro, who is now stuck at work

What do you think guys? Possibly condensation from the open vented catch can?

I found this posted previously by Earl in Jordo's thread.

Oh... and the car is running on a basemap right now, so it's barely being revved.

He's supposed to go get tuned this Thursday, but since this problem is persisting... he's not sure if he should cancel the appointment.

It would suck to have something go wrong during the street tune.

We had the same issue on our car and it was due to the catch can...Do you have any pics of the catch can and how it is setup?

Here are a couple of pics of the catch can.... I can recall a few times where i've seen condensation buildup on the inside lip of the catch can, where the breather filter would normally clamp on to.

You can't really see it in this pic, but its mounted behind the ABS unit on the firewall.

And heres a ghetto pic of how it's setup, sorry its so small... I suck

Even though he's not losing ANY coolant?

Try the simplest things first. Swap the catch can, drop the pan and see if the oil is contaminated
