Default wastegate problems

so friday night my friend and I were messing around with his car and on his wastegate he has a port where you can bolt a pipe on to direct the gases toward the ground. well the bolts were broke on his so we decided to put my wastegate on there which is exactly the same. (Turbonectics) When we put mine on his car was extremely loud and it was coming out of that pipe. What is wrong with my wastegate? We adjusted the screw on top in and out and the exhaust noise did not go away. He could not get any boost out of it. There is a spring in the wastegate. (silver spring) after that we put his back on and i was looking at mine and i compared it to his and we put them back together because it looks like there is nothing wrong with mine ( i still cant figure out why it wouldnt work) and he started to go home and for some reason he is pushing 10psi! We did not adjust anything we just took the top off and put it back on. Before we did any of these things his car sounded really loud when boosting like there was an exhaust leak but you could only hear it when he was in boost so that is why we tried the whole pipe thing cuz we figured it was the noise from the wastegate......sorry so long just thought i would tell the whole stort so i could get some answers on why he is boosting 10psi and mine did nothing for his car.

I'm not familiar with turbonetics wastegates, but tials have a firing ring that needs to go between the manifold and wastegate. It seals the wastegate plunger to keep gases from escaping until it opens under full boost.
