Wastegate open even when not boosting????
my wastegate is open even at idle, not a lot but you can hear it poping a little bit out of the dump tube, but if I am driving and pressing on the gas it will close,
well it kinda messses with the idle, and the car will be noisy but if you give it a little gas the cars get quiet, plus you can put your hand under the dump tube and feel it coming out at idle.

I would bet that's your problem, either that or tial forgot to install a spring.

it has the metal ring, but when installing I noticed that the ring wasn't level with the base of the flange is it supposed to be? all so what is the correct way to hook up vacuum lines?
my only line coming out of the turbo goes to my boost controler then to the wastegate and thats it how shouyld it be hooked up?
ok here is how I have mine, side of turbo hooked to boost controller other side of boost controller hooked to side of wastegate, top of wastegate hooked to vacuum source
I would say that you need to remove the top line that goes to vaccum it is going to open under vaccum at idle if you have it hooked up that way . `its also going to over boost cause the gate will not open if you have boost going to the top port ... depending on what boost controller you have you may need to let the top port vent .
