Wastegate open even when not boosting????
my wastegate is open even at idle, not a lot but you can hear it poping a little bit out of the dump tube, but if I am driving and pressing on the gas it will close,

how can you tell if its closing while driving? as long as it holds boost steady and opens on time you should be fine.

well it kinda messses with the idle, and the car will be noisy but if you give it a little gas the cars get quiet, plus you can put your hand under the dump tube and feel it coming out at idle.

do you have the metal ring in the wastegate? with out the ring the wastegate will leak out of the dump tube.

I had that same problem with my 40mm Tial, it went away after I hooked up the vacum lines the right way.

Re: (Bimmerman)
I would say that you need to remove the top line that goes to vaccum it is going to open under vaccum at idle if you have it hooked up that way . `its also going to over boost cause the gate will not open if you have boost going to the top port ... depending on what boost controller you have you may need to let the top port vent .

Re: (Mr T)
solved the problem, had to take apart the wastegate and install the lower have to the manifold first then mount the top half back on, now no leak
