Wastegate flange a problem?
Hey,
I had a manifold picked up quite some time ago (14b/16g flange) and now have a 57 trim garrett, 63 a/r. The flange on the turbo is WAY bigger than the outlet flange on the manifold, and originally I was just going to get an adapter flange, but I think it will mess up airflow quite a bit...
so...
I found this...

I'm just wondering if the wastegate placement is going to be prone to spikes? It is central on the manifold (good, correct?) but the tube does come out a fair bit on the manifold..
Will this do the trick?? (Yeah, yeah.. I know.. but a mini-ram, tubular, etc etc... It's a budget build folks.. nothing crazy, and nothing terribly expensive either... )

you should be fine. with log manis most people have to run elbows for hood clearance, especially when using the top wg fitting for an ebc.
FYI - changing the manifold may require adjustments to the downpipe, IC piping and possibly oil return (if you even have these components yet)

i had one of those cast manifolds, they are pretty nice.
they could use a little polish on the inside to help gas flow, but other than that, they are solid.
