Default Wastegate dump pipe

What did you guys with the drag turbo kit do with your dump pipe? Is it ok to just bolt the thing on or does it need to be hooked up to your exhaust somehow?

just bolt it on. If you want a closed loop system weld it down on the downpipe closeer to the cat somewhere in that area.

Yeah, it can be bolted on and run open fine. The problem with that is, once you hit hit full boost and the wastegate opens up any living creature in the immediate vicinity will have the **** scared out of them! The more so the higher you boost!

when you;re cruising, you're on vaccuum, wastegate is closed on vaccum, so nothing is going thru the dump tube
at wide open throttle..then it;s different story, I call it a V8 on crack..

My dump pipe just heads straight down just below teh front of my engine. You can hear the wastegate flutter when it opens during normal driving. I like the sound but it isn;t very loud even when I'm boosting hard. Thing is I really don't like my deltagate because I have to warm up the car for like 8 mins before the damn thing will open. Does anyone have this problem with the wastegate taking forever to open?

hmm, my wastegate is a delatgate with a 7lb spring. it won't usually open until around 180 degrees F. What kind of wastegate are using and what would you reccomend, because I am getting to the point of where I;m ready to toss this thing for something better. I am still unsure as what to get though. Suggestions?

excellent now i have an excuse to upgrade. You wouldnt happen to know what minimum spring pressure I should get do you? I currently run 12lbs all of the time, but thining of boosting the car up to 20lbs in the end. I like to sound of my blow off valve, greddy type S. I was wondeirng if I should go HKS super seq. hehehe.

The thing I don't like about my drag wastegate dump tube is that is dumps its exhausts right on my intercooler piping and oil return pine.... anyone else think this might hurt my performance?

Has anyone ever tried to add any type of muffler, or baffle to reduce the sound of the wastegate? Or, do you all just leave it open, or run it back into the exhaust pipe?

I had come up with the idea of throwing a rice-o-nator on my open dump tube and REALLY make some noise !

I think I heard somewhere about people putting lawnmower mufflers on the end of the dump tube. I have no idea how well it worked though. I would think maybe since the muffler is there you would get a little boost creep from it not allowing the wg to fully open. But maybe not, who knows? Anyone care to give it a try and let us know?
