Default Walbro 255hp vs. 255lp

Im going to be running a mild sohc build on rc 440's. I have a b&m adjustable fpr and was offered a walro 255hp for straight trade for my stock pump. Would the high pressure model be fine? Or should i just go buy the lower pressure one?

either one is fine, the HP allows you to run higher fuel pressures. The regular 255 is good for about 70 psi fuel pressure before it really starts to nose dive but the 255hp is supposed to support around 100psi fuel pressure. Either one will be more than enough for what your doing

And for god's sake get rid of that B&M "modifier". It is not the same as a regulator. You're better off with STOCK for what you're using this car for. Don't even install it.

I'm running a B&M modifier on my setup without any issues. I mean yeah its a hack but it works for lower fuel pressures. I have a base of 50 psi and i'm still getting 1:1 with boost rate increase up to 16 psi boost. I do plan on getting a good regulator though before i really crank up the boost cause it is a hack.

The Shodan whats your preference in regulators? I was thinking of an aeromotive. Im running an intank 255 walbro and ID1000's also going to slap in a bosch 044 under the hood.

I run the 255HP in the tank and a 044 up under the IM with -6 feed line all the way from the Wallbro in the tank (Also drilled the fittings out inside). The inside of the fittings are actually a little smaller than the ID of -6 line which is actually bigger than 3/8 (-6).... I would have used a -8 but couldnt see the need when the 6 would meet my power goal fine.. (That and I had a crapload of it laying around) No ID injectors, Precision 1000s, but enough fuel for 700 On a 60 LB base on a H22 at 8900.

-8 would be more than you could need for 750 at LEAST... The IDs will help Idle alot at the higher Base pressures... I have to Idle the car around 12.8s to keep it from lean popping... Ive heard that the IDs can go as lean as 15:1 at idle due to their more resiliant design...

Aeromotive regulator... hasnt let me down ONCE.

My Aeromtive crapped out on the dyno. Ended up buying and installing used AEM on the dyno. Who wants to take a 5" grinder to their brand new IM for clearance issues. Not me, but thats how it hapened.

Came on the car and is set at the stock pressure. Seems to be doing its job.
