Since no one can help in the tech forum ill ask here.
I have a 00' GSR, ever since I installed my V-AFC every now and then I get a CEL. Mostly on highway pulls when I downshift to fourth then the light comes on and when the engine gets to 5000rpm's in stutters and I can't go any farther then 5000 after that. So I guess my question is do I need to hook up the VTM wire on a 00' GSR? Cause in the V-AFC manual it says I don't but in this little paper I got with the V-AFC it says I do, also on the trouble shooting on the Apexi website it says it needs to be hooked up also.
Thanks

2 out of 3 sounds like a winner to me. It sounds like they originally thought that it wouldn't and then made a revision after the manuals were printed. That's the reason for the insert and the update on their website.

i think ya need it. I just put mine in with the VTM wire on. Works fine no CELs... although I DID cut the IACV wire instead of the MAP wire (i think it was map... whatever is blue/black on 99-00 obd2 harnesses). Try hooking it up... doesn't hurt to try. I think that wire is necessary for all VTEC motors
make sure you go to http://www.apexi.com on this and check, because there is a UPDATE about the VTM signal on there.
Yes, definatly hook it up. The VTM signal is just the oil pressure sensor next to the vtec solenoid. without oil pressure at the solenoid, the computer wont engage vtec. Problem is, when the vafc is set to engage early it makes the pressure drop. So the computer wont even try to engage vtec on its own once it gets to the stock activation rpm (which also means no extra fuel, ignition, etc). What the vafc does, is fool the stock ecu into thinking that the oil pressure is always good.
