Default vtec and turbo

i have herd that vtec dose not go well with turbo, i know because of the higher compresion stock but that can be changed. i here that u lose power when vtec hits, and that an ls turbo would be alot better that any vtec. i dont realy undrstand how it cant be good.

Look at any boosted vtec dyno graph and you'll see that what you've heard is wrong. The valve overlap isn't great enough to cause negative effects.

Does fine. GSR cams are great for boost.

people that say that tend to say it because they dont have vtec. If you compared 2 cars with the exact same turbo setup but one is a gsr and one is an ls, the gsr is going to make more power.

As stated above. Look at a LS with the same setup as a GSR and your going to see a VERY noticable difference. The GSR head flows better, vtec x-over can be tuned and the gsr tranny is better. You'll get more power out a GSR with the same amount of boost/turbo setup. However, an LS has lower compression which is much safer and will allow you boost higher. The long geared tranny bites but its dealable. There both great for boost. Even Type R's are turbo'd man, and there cams are even more aggressive and there compression is much higher. Its all about tuning.

The kid that told you a vtec car wouldn't work with turbo and would have less power is a moron.
