boosting a Vtec motor is perfectly fine. More people boost VTEC motors than people boosting B18B's and D15's and ZC's.
Some people just dont like it because it adds one more branch of tuning for the changes to the timing and fuel in vtec.

You hear this because people dont know how to tune around the vtec gap problem that you're going to have at first. The gap is easily eliminated at the dyno as long as you have some tunable device - read: Hondata.
Also, compression is different. GSR = 10.0:1 / LS = 9.2:1 so you can run a bit more boost on the LS but it will not make up for the extra power you get on the GSR. It has been discussed that the GSR head is better as well.
8psi boost w/stock engine
VTEC turbo average hp/tq is 270/190
LS turbo average hp/tq is 220/180

thank you, this helps alot. I guess im going to go ls turbo. I really wanted to go with na but thinking about going with boost now. I cant go ls/vtec turbo so its one or the other, thanks alot though
just go ls turbo now and throw a vtec head on later. If its one or the other I would definately go turbo just because you will have much more power than a stock ls/vtec.
