Default vtec less noticeable with more boost.

I had my car (stock b16a2, inline pro setup) tuned on 17psi. After finding a stripped head stud I replaced them with ARP's. I manged to torque them all down,
for those that are familiar with inline they use/used a thicker head gasket to lower the comp.

When I replaced the headstuds I turned the boost way down out of fear and caution. From 17 to the wastegate spring... about 7 psi. My logic was the extra fuel tuned in at 17 psi would compensate for the higher compression on lower boost.

I gambled and whether everybody tells me Im wrong it has held strong with no issues. recently with the hotter humid whether I turned the boost up to 10 psi.

before on 7 psi it bogged slightly at the crossover point, on 10 psi it is totally unnoticeable.

The crossover seems to be seamless. Am I stupid for attempting this or lucky because I haven;t blown it up???

Default

take it to a dyno and you WILL see the vtec lag at crossover its just normal. you may not feel it while driving because of how early or late your boost is comming in or your running small cams
