Default Vtec with boost-- whats your setting?

Obviously after a dyno this would be much more easier to analyze, but on a small 60 trim t3...6psi... b17...stock cams, im trying to guestimate where i should set my vtec...

Im thinking 5700 (stock setting) b/c the car was set up like that stock to change there...but with the turbo Im not sure it should be lowered... currently its at 5100 but i cant tell if it dips after it, or before. im still getting used to the boost so i cant tell just yet. thanks for any advice you have to offer.

it's hard to say where you need yours. Generally moving it up (lower rpm) will hurt performance. I moved mine to 6k rpm, because thats where it provided the least dip in power I only lost 2-3hp vs 15hp when it was set at 5,100 (give or take 100rpm, I cant remember)....

You have to see where it creases the curve the least. Mine is at 5100. Up 100 or down 100 made a huge difference so you should easily be able to tell.

If your curve gets messed up, so will your top hp.

im having traction problems...perhaps if i turn it up to 5700 or so maybe it will aid in that?

only way to truly tell is hop on a dyno im assuming? i have a wideband but im curiuos if theres any other way instead of looking at a dyno plot of tq vs whp...

honestly the best way is to compate tqw curves from the dyno . any other way is really guessing other than trying to minimize the dip in a/f before vtec.

giggity giggity well alrite! whoa!

anyway, the boost is nice, i have a little oil leak from the SS oil return line to be fixed when some new fittings get here (id rather just wait to do it once and clean it up opposed to fixing it twice)

it pulls extremely hard at 4000 and doesn't stop...i love it. im really curious what my 1/4 mile is gonna be, but i shouldn't care, its just fun. i still need to echeck, then finish the exhaust..i may jump to a 3" b/c the funds would be there after selling my 60mm greddy, but i still need to tune and clean up some things. thanks for the advice guys...
