Turbo b16 how low can I set VTEC?
The b16 seems a little small to spool the t3/t4 and lower rpms and rips as soon as vtec kicks in. So Im wondering if anyone running a setup has used the common sense in thinking that the lower you can set that point and have it work efficiently the faster it will help wth turbo spool. Just wondering how low I can go and still have it work for me instead of against me

If your runners open up at a low rpm it wont matter much more really, since the rpms are so low anyway, you'll just have more air at a slower speed...
if that makes sense
like he said.. get it on a dyno.....
do you have a boost controller?

Re: Turbo b16 how low can I set VTEC? (GSRwBOOST)
Here's what I would do.....
1} set the switch point as high as possible to disable it.....{10,000 rpm?}
2}make a full pass on the low cams.record power
3}enable the Vtec as low as possible.......{2,000 rpm?}
4}make a full pass totally on VTEC cams
5}find the point where the two power lines cross each other, and set the VTEC about 100 rpms lower than that.
Hope that helps.

You're thinking GSR, he's got a B16

Re: Turbo b16 how low can I set VTEC? (VTC_CiViC)
Thanks alot, Some good Ideas. See I have a b16 block in the car on 10psi and she rolls, and i have a spair b16 block sitting. I might just build the b16 and see what i can get out of it. is 400 whp to far off? Is there any kind of turbo that'll give me quick spool up but still suport that much horse? Id like to see how far I can push the b16 because they are so much cheaper the gsrs.
