Default Vovlo turbo

Ok lookin in the bone yard for my first turboproject and found a volvo 740 turbo. I can find any info on this anyonegot an idea what kind of tubo it is? Thnks

I think so its from a volvo 740 wagon . What couldi expect from this turbo? Im lookin to do a b16 build

you shouldnt expect much, i believe the max they psi they put out in volvo is around 6psi, and they are very small, look into getting at least a t25 off of a mid 90s model eclipse, those turbos are a little bit bigger and i think would serve much more purpose than the volvo turbo

Even a T25 would be disappointing on a B16. B16 is known for its revving top end and that turbo would die out quick. Pretty much would be an in town car, worthless on the freeway and not much mid range power. At bare minimum if your dead set on getting a used turbo go with a 14B

Ok so would my vovlo turbo work better for my d16 build and where do I get a reasonably priced 14b

dont bother with a junkyard turbo, plenty of other turbos out there to work well with a b16 engine. those tiny volvo turbos are going to spool quick and choke the crap out of that engine higher rpms. be better off with a straight t3 super 60 with a .63 turbine housing if you want really quick spool and dont have a huge hp goal in mind

And a 14b can be found for $30 on dsmtuners, (which means its more than likely had the life beaten out of it) but they are even worse than the volvo you already have.
