Re: Vortech Supercharger? (GhostSI)
I'm running one on my Si and like it better than the turbos I've had, for a daily driver anyway. Some people will trash them others love them. Most people who trash them have never owned one. The Vortech is a very good kit. The only thing I changed on the initial install was a walbro intank fuel pump the inline is noise and I used the 10psi pulley, all on stock internals for over a year and 18K miles no problems. Have since sleeved the block, 9.5:1 pistons, crower rods and a CRV crank pulley the head has also been done. You can install it yourself it about a 1 1/2 day job, c-speed racing has a good write up on the install. If you are going to get the kit have the clutch replace. If you plan to install the supercharger yourself have the clutch installed before you put the supercharger on, if not you will have to remove the blower and bracket to put the clutch in as it mounts to the transmition housing. I would defiantly go supercharged again you can make power with a supercharger I’m making 347 whp at 8300 rpm current setup and the power delivery is very liner and smooth.
