volvo turbo
see them all the time at the junkyard wondering if they would be any good on a sohc zc.... just wanting some extra power... jUST A THOUGHT.. what do you guys think of them

a lot more people pick up the turbo's from mistubishi's because the flange and everything is a bit more conventional and there are kits to use mitsubishi turbos readily avail

most older volvos use T3 turbos. it doesnt get any more conventional than that. They had turbos as big as a t3 50trims with .63 a/r turbines which is really fun on a single cam.

alright cool I think I might pick one up next time I go to the junkyard...I want to piece together a turbo set up for summer time.. I think it would be really fun! maybe only 6psi..sleeper too.... smic. black piping... that would be nice. any more opinions though....

true. but the keyword there is "older", which means youre probably going to have to rebuild it, in which case youre better off just buying a mitsu turbo or an aftermarket cheapie.
ive been down to the local pick-a-part and seen the volvo turbos but they either have a grip of shaftplay or the weird flange.

when I go to the local pikc your part.. man Ive found like 6 almost perfect no shaft play spins perfect.... they seem in reall good condition.. there a bitch to get off though....

Ya, back in the day I pulled and used about 10 volvo T3s on hondas. Found a few that had some play and just left them unless they had the .63 housing or some part i wanted...and one of the ones I installed burned oil. Other than that Ive had great luck with them
