Default Vitara or forged d16 pistons

Im nearing the end of my build and about to start assembling all of my parts.....Right now i have some eagle rods and vitara pistons on a a6 with z6 head. I know the pistons cant hold as much as something like a weisco piston and im starting to worry about the piston slap and weakness of the vitara. Im shooting for a bit under 300 whp and am kind of in a toss up. Should I just keep the vitaras and not worry so much or go with something like a je/srp piston .20 over? I was thinking about srp but from what I have herd they dont sound worth the money and I would be probably just as safe with vitara piston. All advice is welcome....

Well an important thing to look into when purchasing pistons is the metals that are used to make them. From what i have red SRP uses more expanding metals which causes peoples clearences to be off, as far as vitara they maybe in the same catagorey. I choose Wiseco's due to their reputation and their piston design and the metals used.

Try searching on the pistons you are going to/want to buy, it will help in aiding your decision.

for high 200's whp, vitaras have been more than proven to be strong enough properly tuned. so have factory rods and pistons.

srps would work, as would any forged piston, provided they are built properly. this has been gone over a million times though

wrong
the SRP have a high silicone content, wich makes them expand less and run a tighter piston/wall clearance

yup.

this is true. i have SRP's and love them. assembled correctly, they dont slap, etc. mine sound like a stock engine. i ran 16 psi through them last year, and am currently rebuilding the turbo setup and plan on running 20 psi next year.
