i was wondering if this would be a good idea, can anyone tell me if this will work like a catch can?

1. remove the hose between the pcv on the valve cover to the intake manifold, add a 90 degree fitting to the valve cover and and just have it vent to the atmosphere

2. drill 2 holes in my valve cover, add 2 90 degree fittings and just let them vent into the atmosphere

question- ive read many threads saying something about a black box? and how i have to put a freeze plug in it for it 2 work?
