Default VARIOUS OIL PICKUPS

In my dilema of learning the hard way. i thought it would be best to make this thread to help out others. i went from a b16 to a b18c block and found out that some parts are not interchangeable and this is a key one hop it helps the next guy out.



notice the gsr one is shorter and you need this one do to the block gridle.

are B18B1 and B18C1 oil pans different? cause I dont remember if I got a GSR oil pan when I had to buy a new one, and my block is a B18B1... Its been fine for like 6 months, I just always thought the oil pickups were the same too.

the gsr pan is an inch deeper in the shallow end for the windage tray, other than that i think they are the same

can you use a ls pick up with a gsr pan. i wanted redo my return flange but the only pan i have laying around is a gsr

if im not wrong you have to use the same pan and pickup

arent ls and b16 oil pans the same? and pickups...?

because from the pic the legs of the b16 and b18b oil pickups look slightly different.....

no look at where the oil gets picked up from. They are different. all these pick ups were removed from the blocks to make this thread.

yes you can. i've personally ran p72 pans on ls/b20 blocks numerous times with no problems.

The GSR pans are taller because of the the block girdle. B16's and B18a/b,b20 dont have girdles.. thats why the pans are shorter.
