VAFC hack giving me problems.
Hey guys,
I have a vafc with 450's controlling a b16 at half a bar. My settings are.
-41% 1k
-39% 2k
-38% 3k
-37% 4k
-36% 5k
-34% 6k and above.
Here are my problems. 1) When at idle the exhaust emissions stink really bad, no smoke my emmissions are clear even under full throttle runs, other then a very very small foggy puff when down shifting every now and then, but I don't have a cat just straight back so maybe thats why.....anyways its just horrible fuel smelling exhaust. 2)My egt's are about 100 degrees hotter then normal at all ranges when cruising without boost, but are good for a second or two when throttling up to a certain rpm. I know ignition retard makes egt go up, but when you run the hack without a msd btm, the only option is to leave the distributor at 11 degrees tdc without detonating right?
Any of you guys with the hack have these problems as well or a solution for them?
Thanks.
The injectors were run in my friends car and worked fine before i put them on mine, so theoretically they should be fine...i might end up sending them out to be mapped if I can't solve this problem otherwise though

Can anyone at least answer why for 450 cc injectors that flow 45 percent more fuel then the 240's......how a 5 percent latency figure is thrown in to make the siggested -40% at idle......because that makes me run pig rich.
Letting the post drop after this bump. It would be really helpful though if atleast someone with 450's and using this lame hack could tell me what their settings are if they are not running rich.
Did put put in an inline or walbro 255??? If you dont then that your answer.. I dont think stock fuel pump can handle 450cc injectors...
And for heat.. Check to see if your fan is working while cruising. Check coolant for any leaks.. Check see if broken thermostat..
How is your vacuum? Do you have a wideband??
I had same setup you do, but blew my head gasket by following the darn stupid a/f ratio gauge. Those are useless..
