Oh, okay, got it... I don't know why I couldn't figure that out... thanks!

If I was going to drill through something thick, like say a shock tower, then yes, self tapping screws get a thumbs up, as you'll be there all day w/o them.

The tip of the self tapping screw is just under the diameter of the threads, and every time you take them in and out, there's a good chance you catch and remove a little more metal. Eventually, you'll just have to drill another hole.

...just giving an explanation of what I experienced when I used to do alarms and stereos

The screws I'm trying to use now are not self tapping, and they don't want to thread into the holes I drilled very much.

I got the McMaster.com 4-port distribution box with 1/4NPT ports instead of 1/8NPT ports... I already had the 1/4NPT barbed fittings. I only got four, and I'm only going to need three... I don't see the use for six.

You can't link to a file on your hard drive. You have to upload to a host somewhere. I've used :

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/

They are free and work with H-T, but have a limited amount of space.

You can also get your own hosting account for about $5/month if you want to host more stuff. I use:

http://order.1and1.com/xml/ord...tatic

If you want to make your image work right now, just e-mail it to me and I'll host it.

Yeah, I'm slow. Here is the box now.

I went to CTR and bought a couple of stainless #8 self tappers, 1.75" long. They worked like a charm in the holes I drilled in the firewall for the previous screws. The old screws weren't working because they were chrome plated brass. Got the AVCR sensor installed too, I'll have one extra port after I get the BOV installed when I put the turbo on the weekend after next.

Exactly. Function over form. The only reason I got the one from Mcmaster Carr is because I needed to order a couple of BSPT fittings from them, and my total was like $2, so I added that thing. I was actually about 1/2 way done making one using a piece of 1x1 steel railing that we use at my work. I had the ends welded shut and the holes drilled, hadn't tapped them or painted yet. Now it's a paperweight, oh well.
