Default V-Afc hack on a JRSC Si

I have had a friend of mine tell me that it is possible to do the hack on a JRSC car because the boost is after the throttle body. Is this true? I think he is full of it because the SMC that is currently on my car works fine and it reads boost the same way does it not???? Any way some clarifacation would be nice form some of the HT members. Thank you

All you'd have to do is move the map sensor to see boost. If you leave the map sensor in the throttlebody like it is now, you'll never see boost on it with a JR. Your SMC isn't reading boost if your map sensor is in the stock location either. It basically boils down to wether or not you need the map to see boost, but you can run the hack with a super or turbo. You just need to make sure the map sees boost, that's all.

SO this guy is full of it I guess. I have the JRSC MAP controller relocation piece on the throttlebody. So My MAP does see boost. THat is what I had thought. Because the car runs fairly well with the SMC plus installed. Now it just need to be tuned.

What the hell is that?? You don't need anything with a JR to keep the map from seeing boost. Because of the location of the map sensor in the stock location in relation to where boost is built (in manifold after the map only) you'll never see boost on a JR unless you take the map out of the throttlebody and put it in the manifold above the charger or run a line/hose to it from the manifold(boost side) to it.

If you would read closer that is how mine is setup. It has the JR map mod piece so that the map sees boost.

Sorry... must have been high at the time

I read it as "So my MAP doesn't see boost." That's why it didn't make sense... lol

Can you elaborate on this... maybe snap a pic of it? Is it something you bought from JR? I just plugged up my TB hole and ran a vac/boost line to my map... always looking for a nicer way to do it if possible.
