Default v-afc hack installed finally :)

Over a FMU setup this is like night and day honestly. Besides the initial check engine lights because I had some wrong settings, it feels so much better and pulls consistently and smoothly. Like other people reported, no boost transistion and finally i'm not dumping fuel when the slightest amount of boost is detected. And thank god I'm not experiencing the 'bucking' that people complain about.

My old setup was:
12:1 FMU
Walbro Intank Fuel Pump
Missing Link

New setup:
V-AFC
DSM 450's
resistor box

Big props to my friend mason for installing it for me and getting cut and burnt in the process. I think my car doesn't like that man for some reason. Only thing I could really do is hold the flashlight and learn . But anyways, without him this **** would still be sitting in my closet.

Only thing I'm having troubles with is at idle its like so frickin rich for some reason and it idles kind of rough. I already have it trimmed at like -40 at 1k so I don't know what else to really do. Anybody have the same problem?

also, for some reason even with us boring out the seals. The injectors seals still stick out a little?

"Manual transmission only with the s100 or s200 systems."

only exception is the 89-91 jdm b16a.

deng, this could've been good information to have a good month ago. oh well setup runs fine and i don't see myself running over 8-9lbs so i think i'll be fine without it.

for the seal, id say keep boring, i used and exacto knife can kept trimming until they slid with barely any friction onto the injector, my seals fit flush, if u compare the stock vs dsm injector where it sits against the intake manifold, theyre the same, if the seals arent totally flush like stock, the injector tip will sit up higher than before

ne way ne cells? i got a cell 45

btw what kind of HID kit do u have, are they worth it and is night driving that much better, ne **** from popo??

hid is dope, definately lights better though the beam pattern is kinna everywhere, and no cops have stopped me. honestly, everyone in gainesville has ballin' lexus's, audis, etc for some reason so i figure cops don't care.

anybody got any clues about what's goin on with the idle problem, it just like stutters and feels like its about to turn off sometimes. But other times its okay?

the only thing that causes some people to choose the hack over hondata is the ease of tuning...not to say that hondata is difficult, but it requires much more money and time...with the hack you can sit down and in a matter of minutes readjust everything...

although if you are good with hondata you can do the same, basically it all comes back to the money issue...hack=250 dollars, hondata with tuning equip=1000-2000(laptop)...thats just IMO though...

mine did not idle the best either at first (-35%)and I thought it was too rich, but several people on here are running -25% at 1k. I figured why not try and it and at -25 it idles perfect. It is running pretty rich at idle but I have heard from a few sources its the chareachteristics(sp) of the the 450s and a honda ecu that require it set that rich becuase they take longer to open.

haha, its cool, i just was getting frustrated because i was on little sleep and tired as a ****, and it took way longer than i thought it would.

No Mase Engineering install would be complete w/ out war wounds, haha

Regardless, heh its running smoother than my car right now lol

Bring that **** back over so we can throw the wideband on that damn thing and tune it once and for all.

I found that on his motor, i had to bring the idle to -50 in order to get even close to 14:1

thanks to steve again, a wideband does wonders for street tuning. Car runs hella smoother now and top end has a better pull then before cause I was just dumping fuel up there. In most cases we had to lean out the car because i think the injectors were just too big for my setup.
