Default Should I be scared to jump from 5.5psi to 8psi?

I know my stock engine can handle 8psi, and I have had it at 5.5 for about 3 weeks now. What I want to do is turn it up now that I have better fuel flow. Is this a risky thing to do? What do you suggest? Thanks!!!

from what i see of your mods, you shouldn't have a problem. I went from 5psi to 9psi on a mostly stock fuel setup other than a vafc and a 255lph pump. Then i went out and got 440's, missing link, and vortech fmu 12:1 disk and the car always ran perfect. Just set the fuel on the afc right and you won't have a problem.

That fuel set-up is bogus. I hope that's a typo. A VAFC and pump would not do jack for you. 440's and a 12:1 FMU would give you an absurd amount of fuel and even if that wasn't the case, would suck alot more than the afc. Please be a typo.

8psi is nothing to worry about. I would retard the timing a couple degrees, atleast, or get a MSD BTM, since the afc does nothing for timing.

No typo, yes the original of the pump and vafc, did nothing for me, local shop i went to screwed me, i was new to forced induction and new very little. But there is not typo in the current setup. I run rc440's, afc, missing link, 255lph pump, and vortech fmu 12:1 disk. There are tons of people from our area that run this setup and we make lots of power on it. The motor this setup was on orginally was a sohc and loved to run rich. Yes, i know that's alot of fuel, but i never had a problem with that motor and i actually gave that motor to someone on here, but i never heard back on how it's doing for him. The new setup with a dohc, will use the same fuel setup and should net 10's. Also, if you would seriously like to question the fmu setup call INLINEPRO or talk to Elite Hatch. I'm begining to wonder if us is VA are the only people to use that setup.

Yea a friend of mine was running lean on 450's, walbro, missing link, and vafc so i lent him my 12:1 FMU and boom instant fix. Granted it was a little rich but for the most part it was a decent setup.
