Default Using the boost control feature on an aem ems to control a VNT stepper motor

i got to thinking about this. the stepper motor on some vnt turbo's is basically just (if i remember correctly) a 0-5v motor. couldnt you in theory use the boost control feature of the aem to control the vnt.. since you could the vnt as your wastegate. by controlling the speed of the shaft?

its a rough idea. just curious

I think stepper motors generally have more than 1 pwm signal. It's possible, but you'd have to find out what type of input the VNT needs to work.

aem ems has ability to control stepper motors Idle 1/2 & idle 3/4 etc, but i dont think with the current set of software settings are sufficient for the type of control that u would want.

you could trick the idle controls to do it.. but it would be a pain i the *** nad probably not work very well.

the ems is designed to use a pwm soleniod for boost control
