Default Which to use for Hondata? P72 J or P28 for 95 GSR

I plan to get a Skunk 2 Manifold soon and wonder if i should use my JDM ecu or my Civic ECU?

I read that if i use the Civic ECU i wont get secondary runner activation, but the p72 J will give it to me.

should I do both?

any input would be appreciated as i feel I should sell one (i need money) but i don't wann be left wanting later

get the P28 chipped with a DOHC map on it from locash. this way the computer won't look for butterflies. I believe it costs 125

If you are going to get the skunk manifold, u will no longer need the secondary butterfly option. So use the p28.

Use the civic ecu. You wont have the secondaries w/ the skunk 2 IM. Also, the jdm gsr ecu sucks ***, it makes less power than its usdm counterpart and it has a speed limiter.

do I even need the secondaries with boost?

basically, should i use the P72 now and switch over to the p28 when i get the Skunk 2 manifold?

Yes, hondata should remove both speed limiter and rev limiter. Paul

doesn't it remove the speed limiter and adjust the rev limiter? Scott

Isnt installing hondata much like "rechipping" an ecu. If so, keep in mind, a jdm p72 cannot be chipped according to katman.

I've never heard that one before (no chip in jdm ecu).

As for the difference, keep in mind that the P72 also has the knock sensor.
Since turbo_e is too damn cheap to buy a J&S, maybe it's a good idea to stick with it in his boosted application.

According to the hondata site it can??? Am I wrong?

Anyways say i can do the p72 J, will there b a problem with the SK2 manifold? will the ecu Barf (CEL) at the fact there are no secondaries? or will it run as well as, if not better than the p28?

my head hurts

an easy choice, even more easy if you already have p72 - besides what others say, hondata doesn't alter everything in starting maps, so i'd choose p72 for 95 gsr

I have not read that. I was kinda asking bout if the hondata was like chipping the p72. Its obviously not too similar, since the p72 can take a hondata application and be tuned.
