Upgrade coils, electrical?
Hi guys, I tried to search, but couldn't find anything useful so I post here.
My car is your typical EG with the GSR swap. It is fully built with 9.0 CR pistons, SC61 turbo, Hondata. It have ran the best of 11.5's @ 122mph. But yesterday I went down to the track again, and the car just keep on missing at the top of third gear and fourth gear. I changed the plugs, but no luck. So I called it quit. As far as the ignition go, I have stock distributor, MSD cap, MSD compact coil, and NGK wire. The spark plugs were gap at .025.
What else can I upgrade to get rid of the missing problem? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Upgrade coils, electrical? (tegunderpressure)
6AL is not a coil, it is an ignition signal modifier box that has been known to cost power. The MSD blaster coil with otherwise stock Honduh ignition should work fine.
I think there's a maintainance problem with cap/wires/rotor/coil, because your ignition setup is fine as is. Except the wires... tegunderpressure's right about OEM's being the best.
