Default Unsafe to drive with no BOV?

Im having issues with bov flanges, and my turbo should be all done this weekend but i wiont be able to get my flange problem worked out till sometime next week, so my question is, is it safe to drive around with np bov for a week or so?

yes,many cars with stock turbos dont even have BOV's.

Yup..especially if your car is an automatic...in an automatic car the throttle body plate doesnt snap shut between shifts, so there is less backpressure on the turbine. A week isnt going to hurt your turbo either way though.

when you let off the gas, try to do it gradually, dont just slam it shut. compressor surge is not a good thing

nobody mentioned this... but it'll be fine as long as the BOOST IS LOW! keep it at like 5lbs or so for the week, and if you do go higher, do NOT slam the throttle shut. a really bad high boost surge can work the nut right off the impeller and it'll fall apart (worst case scenario) or just break things. At low boost, it's fine (greddy kit has no BOV @ 5.5psi) but at high boost it's a must.
