UberChip: Non-Blinking CEL
I put my DSM 450s and my Uberchip in lastnight. After about 5 seconds of the car running the CEL came on, and it wouldn't blink. I'm sure I put the chip in the right way (I know someone that made that mistake previously). Anyone have any experience/ideas/suggestions?
EDIT: It's in limp mode, and it's idling ALMOST normally with the 450s... if that says anything

Well, the ECU was already socketed.. it's been socketed for a few years, I just swapped the chips. Maybe the chip didnt burn right.
What happens if I put an LS uberchip in a P72? I have a known good LS chip...

he said he made sure he put it in the correct way. I think putting it in the wrong way would just make the motr not even run!
Did you check to see what the CEL light code was even?
And as far as i know, the LS chip should be in the p74 or the p75. the p72 is a GSR ecu correct? maybe teh chip is looking for vtec or something.

The chip was put in the right way because i did it. I put my first one in backwards and it fried the chip but still ran in limp mode as his is doing now. We did not burn the chip wrong because we took it to john at secret services so he could do it. Everything was installed correctly, maybe the chip just didnt burn correctly? Is that possible?

you should have a reburnable chip
you should have a reburnable chip
all eeproms are re-burnable.
It just a happened one time. I had 1 map on the car, ran good... changed maps a little bit leaner, it was good but not good enough, went to change it again then it did the non checkable code. So we went back and reburned a different map and then the code went away.

Still no dice. Got the damn thing reburned and it still throws the CEL. Could it be the wiring on my 450s? Maybe one of the Radio Shack resistors is bad?
