Default Solid CEL Issue

Turbo d16y7 in a 93 coupe running a p06 and uber...

I tried 3 ECUs (2 p28s, 1 p06) all have solid CEL with my chip

Tried various different burns and programs... uber 1.66 / 1.70, crome...

Tried no chip in the p06 and still a solid CEL

What the hell else could do it? The car runs fine, but the CEL never turns off as soon as I turn the key on.

edit: tried a stock ECU and it has a solid CEL

did u jump the connector to see if the light is on for a reason. if it doesnt flash at all i would check the wire to the bulb from the ecu. possibly shorted somewhere and just lighting it up.

nah, that was the 1st thing i thought of, but no its not jumped.

it doesnt flash at all when you have a solid CEL because its bad ECU. thing is... i know the chip and ECUs i tried are good.

any other ideas?

I had an issue like this once before. I chipped an ecu for my friend's GSR and it wouldnt work at all in my car no matter what I tried (solid CEL) and then as soon as we put it in his car it worked perfect. If you clip the jumper in the ecu and does the stock p06 throw a code?

no codes... solid ECU all the time. its like the connector is jumped and it doesnt have any codes so its just solid all the time.

all the ecus and chips work fine in my car

A missing link is not the answer to any problem

check every fuse in the car using a dmm. then look at the ecu harness and see if u see any shielding from the wires exposed. could be something grounding out. dmm's are a life saver.

tried that... solid CEL still owns.

the thing is... theres nothing wrong with the car... it runs fine, its fast, drives fine and everything works... it just has a solid CEL

when you turn the ignition on, the main relay turns on and then off after a few seconds. no matter how many codes you have, the CEL is supposed to turn off with the main relay.

when somebody says they have a solid CEL, it means the light never turns off unless the key is off. this is the problem i am having!

someone correct me if im wrong on this one

but if you have a car with no codes and you jumper the service connecter, do you not get a solid cel ?

that was why im asking for you to check your service connector with an ohm meter, considering you say the car runs fine

sounds like a wiring issue. get a wiring diagram of the service jumper and chase the wires to see if there grounded anywhere.
