Default Twin wastegates

I searched but got nothing real informative,as the topic states
are twin wastegates necessary?if yes please explain.

divided top mount, yes necessary.

on a shared collector, it isnt.
unless big turbo low boost.

yeah theyre used on divided inlets to avoid boost creep

Some even stage them so that one gate opens a little later than the other to eliminate creep, and keep boost in check.

With the divided housings, I think that they are just trying to maintain symmetry
